Motorsport: Chelmsford team champs after six weeks
THE wins just keep on coming for Nick and Abi Radley, the 500cc grass track sidecar team from Chelmsford.
Nick and 16 year-old daughter Abi have been racing together for just six weeks.
Yet last Sunday, they stood proudly on top of the rostrum as they were crowned Champions of Champions 2008, having beaten the cream of the country's sidecar talent at Swingfield, near Folkestone.
Speaking after the presentation, proud dad Nick spoke how Abi has taken to the sport like "a duck to water". The pair are now looking forward to tomorrow, Sunday, when they line-up with some of the top crews in Europe at the Boarded circuit at Collier Street, Kent.
Joining them on the rostrum at the Champions of Champions event were current British champions Shaun Harvey and Danny Hogg, who finished in third place.
The Chelmsford-based current British champ was unhappy with his bike's set-up all day and still is looking to squeeze a few more miles per hour out of his highly-tuned 500cc motor.
