ALI Carter will play Ronnie O’Sullivan in the second round of the World Snooker Championship after a terrific win against former champion Graeme Dott.

Carter, from Chelmsford, trailed 4-1 and 6-2 in his first round match at the Crucible but dug in to turn the encounter on its head.

Carter won eight of the last 10 frames of the match to defeat Dott 10-8 and set up a clash against ‘The Rocket’ on Friday (April 27).

O’Sullivan beat Stephen Maguire in his first round match, with Carter taking to social media following his win.

He said: “Delighted with the win! Onto the next one, time to chill for a few days!”
