CHELMSFORD Chieftains continued their impressive start to the new ice hockey season with back-to-back victories.

The Chieftains beat Haringey Huskies 7-3 in National Ice Hockey League Division 2 before a 5-0 win against Guildford Phoenix.

Travelling to Haringey first up, the Chieftains impressed and took an early lead. Cameron Bartlett got the goal after a neat assist from Slovakian forward Filip Supa in the seventh minute.

Supa added his name to the scoresheet after he picked up the pass from Anthony Leone after 13 minutes and it remained 2-0 at the end of the first play.

And it was all about the Slovakian in the next phase, as Supa scored three more goals to put the visitors firmly in the driving seat.

Tom Wilson scored the final two goals on the game for Chieftains to wrap up a comfortable win.

Guildford travelled to Chelmsford the following day and it took less than two minutes for Supa to break the deadlock.

The same man rattled the post before Bartlett did get the second goal of the game, crashing home from a tight angle.

Supa added a third in a first phase dominated by the Chieftains, although goalkeeper Sonny Philipps had to be alert to keep the score at 2-0 into the second period.

Rob Veares and Drew Campbell wrapped up the scoring to make it a four point weekend for Chelmsford.

Chelmsford are seventh in the standings, with six wins from their seven matches to date.
