WHILE this is still early season, with just three games having been played, Chelmsford are finding life difficult in the highly competitive London One North league.

And they suffered their third straight loss, losing 57-5 as they were comprehensively outplayed by a strong North Walsham side, who are now top of the league table with three wins out of three games played.

The home side scored nine tries to Chelmsford’s one, which was scored by Colm Higgins to make it 31-5.

Chelmsford coach Eddie Gooby said: “There are not many days when you get beaten 57–5 and still have a smile on your face and watch your team put in a battling performance in the face of adversity.

“I know that once we get all our players back, we will be highly competitive and we can look forward to our first league win.

“Today’s game saw our young players grow up against a much more experienced and physical side. At the beginning of the week we were having a problem assembling a squad, but it was great to see so many players step up and put themselves forward for the cause. This proves to myself and our coaches that we have the spirit in the squad that will carry us forward over the coming weeks. We look forward to the challenges ahead.”
