CHELMSFORD City face National League South newcomers East Thurrock United on Monday night at Melbourne Stadium.

The Clarets go into the match on the back of two league victories, while Rocks have also made a good start to life in the division following promotion as Ryman Premier play-off winners last season.

Rod Stringer’s team followed up their 1-0 home win over Weston-Super-Mare on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over Ebbsfleet United at the Melbourne Stadium.

Shamir Mullings bagged the winning goal over Weston nine minutes from time on Saturday. It was his sixth of the season.

Billy Bricknell put Chelmsford ahead against Ebbsfleet after 30 minutes. Jack Powell equalised for the Kent visitors in the 42nd minute but Bagasan Graham grabbed the winner in the 83rd minute.

John Coventry’s East Thurrock have made a good start to life in National League South and enjoyed a 6-0 thrashing of hosts Truro City on Saturday.
