Chelmsford Croquet Club bagged two victories in the EACF Handicap League.
They entertained Maldon Pavilion and won 11-7 on games and by 105 hoops to 88.
The star performer was David Dawsey with 4.5 points, backed up by Len Purcell (3), Anne Skuse (1) and Keith Harris (2.5).
Their second game was an even closer affair away to Maldon Lakeside, winning 10-8 despite losing on hoops 105 to 106. Paul Bridgman (4.5) starred for Chelmsford, supported by David Dawsey (2.5), John Skuse (2.5) and Bob Jones 0.5.
Overall 23 teams throughout East Anglia are competing in this competition. Chelmsford’s record this year of three wins out of four is likely to see them placed second to Southchurch in their division of the league.
