CHELMSFORD Chieftains continued their successful season by winning the NIHL Divison One South Cup.

Playing in front of a packed Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre, the Chieftains went into their second leg against Streatham Redskins holding a 7-2 lead.

And they put the south London team to the sword again with a 10-3 triumph that made it a commanding 17-5 aggregate victory.

Coach Sean Easton’s team will be hoping to take their red hot form into another two-legged encounter this weekend as they bid for a fourth piece of silverware.

Chieftains take on fierce rivals London Raiders – who used to be Romford Raiders before moving to Lee Valley – home and away in the NIHL Division One South play-off quarter-finals.

Raiders welcome the Chieftains on Saturday before the second leg on Sunday evening (face-off 6.30pm).

Chelmsford already had their third consecutive league title and the South East Cup under their belt before heading to Streatham on Saturday for the first leg of the Division One South Cup.

Darren Brown scored two goals and had two assists as Chieftains defeated their hosts 7-2.

Juraj Huska led the way at the Riverside 24 hours later with a hat-trick of goals and a brace of assists as Chieftains won the Division One South Cup in style.
