CHELMSFORD Ladies’ first team finished their EHL Conference East hockey season with a 6-2 defeat against league champions Slough.

Despite the defeat, results elsewhere meant Chelmsford avoided the play-offs.
Harry Rayner put Chelmsford men’s first team ahead against St Albans in East Premier A.
But St Albans hit back with four goals to win and leave Chelmsford finishing the season in eighth place.
Alice Birch, Claudia Topel, Gill Collins and Holly Guy secured a 4-0 win for the ladies’ fourth team against Basildon IV.
The men’s fifth team concluded their season with a 4-0 defeat against a youthful East London VI in East 7SE. The defeat confirmed Chelmsford’s relegation to Division Eight.
