CHELMSFORD Hockey Club’s junior teams had mixed results at the Copper Box Arena in Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at the annual indoorhockey.co.uk indoor tournament.
Six teams of boys and girls from Under-10 through to Under-16 enjoyed some extremely competitive indoor hockey.
Chelmsford’s U10 girls claimed a medal for third place in their competition. They finished third after the pool matches and lost their first play-off match before beating Blue Hornets to take third place overall.
The Under-16 girls narrowly missed out on a medal when they lost their third place play-off match 1-0 to Saffron Walden.
A very young and inexperienced Chelmsford Under-10 boys team finished seventh but showed significant improvement throughout their tournament against very well-drilled opposition.
The Under-12 boys finished 10th after losing 2-0 to Havering.
Chelmsford Under-12 girls battled to a very creditable third place in a strong pool before losing 1-0 to Crostyx in the play-offs.
The Under-16 boys finished seventh against some very strong opposition.
