OXFORD City Stars are proving to be a thorn in the side of the Chelmsford Chieftains as the League leaders were held to a 3-3 draw at the Riverside on Sunday.

Chieftains had to come from behind on three occasions against the hard-working Stars in an end-to-end encounter, an exciting game to welcome the new year.

Lukas Zatopek and Anthony Leone (2) were the goalscorers for the Chieftains and it is now a return to full training as they prepare for this weekend’s NIHL division one south fixtures at London Raiders on Saturday followed by a visit to Riverside on Sunday by the Wightlink Raiders.

London Raiders are currently sixth in the table and 19 points adrift of table-topping Chelmsford, while Wightlink are 10 points behind in third place.

Sunday’s match faces-off at 6.30pm.
