CHELMSFORD ladies first team were held to a goalless draw at home to Ipswich Ladies in EHL Conference East on Saturday.

The hosts dominated large periods of the derby but lacked a cutting edge in front of goal.

Chelmsford host Wimbledon on Saturday with push back at noon.

Vasan Veerapalan and Tim Fox were on target for Chelmsford men’s first team in their 2-2 East Premier A draw away to Wapping’s first XI.

Wapping took the lead but Veerapalan touch in from just yards out to equalise.

The second half was end-to-end but Chelmsford made it 2-1 after Fox steered the ball into the goal. Wapping went all out to score and were duly rewarded with a goal.

Chelmsford face Old Loughtonians in the league on Saturday and start their cup campaign on Sunday at Ipswich.

Colette Ager scored a brace and Katherine Hales one as Chelmsford II lost 5-3 to Folkestone’s first in East One South. Hales and Ager put the visitors ahead but the Kent hosts equalised by half-time.

Folkestone added two more before Ager reduced the arrears before the hosts scored from a penalty flick. The seconds host Wapping this weekend.

Chelmsford III walloped Old Loughtonians III 8-0 in their Essex Premier clash. Jemima Mann, Jo Guy and Hennessy Murray scored a brace with Sarah Eager and Constance Day also on target.

Zaynah Rehman, Fiona Neave and Chris Cunningham saw Chelmford IV to a 3-1 Essex Division Three win over Brentwood III. Will Cooper (2), Cormack Mahne and Baljinder Singh Bhangra were on target as the men’s fifth team defeated Colchester IV 4-1 in East 7SE.
