CHELMSFORD City will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back Conference South defeats when they host Whitehawk on Saturday.

The Clarets lost 4-2 away to Wealdstone on January 17 to follow up a 3-1 reverse at Weston-Super-Mare.

But Mark Hawkes’ side will be back at home for the first time in nearly a month when they take on their Sussex rivals at the weekend.

Whitehawk are fourth in the table and four points above seventh-placed Chelmsford, but went down 3-0 away to the Clarets’ Essex rivals Concord Rangers at the weekend.

Hawkes has made another raid on Southend United following the successful loan of Jason Williams.

Nineteen-year-old midfielder Jack Bridge, who was offered a professional contract with the Shrimpers at the end of last season, has joined City on a month’s loan.

But another former Southend player, Nicky Nicolau, has been released, while goalkeeper Bradley Watkins has returned to Aston Villa following his loan spell.
