WRITTLE Tennis Club’s head coach Mark Crick has been rewarded by Essex LTA with an award for ‘outstanding work in development/club coaching in 2014’.
Crick is a hard-working coach who over the last six years has built a thriving junior coaching programme at the club as well as developing the private tennis lessons at New Hall school.
Crick has imposed his style of coaching on his aspiring players and introduced more group sessions, match plays and themed tournaments to the club’s schedule.
He also runs cardio tennis lessons to burn off calories and stay fit while learning the key skills of tennis at the same time. Writtle has had a very successful summer with their under-10 and 18 teams staying unbeaten all season to win their Essex Aegon divisions.
Also the men’s side, which consists of several juniors players, have clinched promotion and returned to the Chelmsford first division. Crick and his team of young coaches provide coaching all year round and provide lessons for all ages and abilities.
