CHELMSFORD were beaten 34-16 by Harrow in their first round of the London & South East Intermediate Cup, Coach Eddie Gooby was full of praise for the young Chelmsford team after the game.

He said: “We were always going to be up against it playing a well organised, determined side who are top of their league but our defensive work was very good and we always looked dangerous in attack.”

It took Harrow almost 20 minutes to get on the score board.

Chelmsford created a number of opportunities before a penalty was awarded for a high tackle and Luke Cunnah bagged the three points on offer.

Chelmsford were awarded another penalty which Cunnah converted.

Harrow then scored two tries to make it 17-6 at half time.

After the break Harrow scored a further three tries.

But Chelmsford’s Jamie Ash sprinted in to make the final score 34-16.
