CHELMSFORD City midfielder Craig Parker is in the process of finding himself a new club after his contract with the Clarets was cancelled by mutual consent earlier today.

Craig has recently been on loan at Ryman League Premier Division club Bury Town while opportunities to line-up in the Chelmsford starting 11 were limited and manager Glenn Pennyfather has made the tough decision to allow him to seek more regular football elsewhere. Parker made a handful of appearances in 2012/13, scoring one goal.

“Similar to the recent decision to release Ishmael Welsh, I have to work within a budget and Craig is an excellent player who deserves to be playing somewhere every week,” Pennyfather explained.

“His commitment and character have always been unquestionable and we obviously wish him all the best for what is a bright future in football.”
