Colchester United played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Oldham Athletic on Saturday afternoon.

Luke Norris's brace and Harry Pell's fine strike looked to have secured the U's a second straight league win, at Boundary Park.

But the Latics hit back with Sam Surridge's double and Peter Clarke's late header rescuing a point for the Latics.

The result sees Colchester remain fourth in the League Two table, and John McGreal’s men host Bury, next weekend.

Here, Colchester United reporter Jonathan Waldron rates the players following the 3-3 draw on the road:

DILLON BARNES 7

Pulled off a fine save just after Norris scored and looked solid. Booked.

RYAN JACKSON 7

Made a great headed clearance early on and produced a competent display.

LUKE PROSSER 7

Provided a great headed flick-on for Norris goal but will be disappointed with two late goals.

FRANKIE KENT 7

Relished his battle with O’Grady and had a hand in Pell’s fine strike at the other end.

KANE VINCENT-YOUNG 7

Was a solid performer at left-back despite not being completely fit. Booked.

HARRY PELL 7

Displayed superb execution for his goal and provided the assist for Norris’s second.

BRANDON COMLEY 7

Kept possession well and did the simple things effectively in midfield.

SAMMIE SZMODICS 7

Was denied by keeper Iverson in the first half and was a lively customer again. Booked.

LUKE NORRIS 8

U’s man of the match. Took his two goals extremely well and was a thorn in Oldham’s side.

BRENNAN DICKENSON 7

Provided the corners that led to U’s first two goals and showed flashes of his skill.

FRANK NOUBLE 7

Did his fair share of defensive work but at fault in build-up to Latics’ second goal.
