WIVENHOE brothers Edward and Elliot Appleby competed in the Junior Men's Short and Free events, at the Bracknell Open.

Representing Chelmsford-based Riverside Ice and Leisure, Elliot achieved a new personal best (PB) by more than six points in the Junior Men short event.

He placed second to his brother Ed, who was first in the Junior men short.

Elliot also achieved a new PB score in the free programme and Ed placed first, in the Junior Men free event.

The duo, who are students at Colne Community School, have had entries accepted for the Robin Hood Trophy, to be held at the National Ice Centre, in Nottingham.

It will be the first time that Ed and Elliot have competed at the National Ice Centre, where they will take part in the Junior Men's events.

Ed and Elliot train several times a week at Riverside Ice and Leisure, Chelmsford, where they are coached by Ice Professionals John Wicker and Jane Faux.

Ed, who is selected as a recipient of NISAs Young Rising Star Award, is grateful to Vicky and Peter at Loveiceskating for sourcing his skating equipment and providing partial sponsorship.
