BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent booked their place in the Tolleshunt D’Arcy Memorial Cup final after a remarkable 9-4 victory against Springfield.

The sides met in a rearranged semi-final tussle at the Taydal Stadium on Tuesday night.

And it was the R's who marched on after a goal glut in each half, including a hat-trick from former FC Clacton hero Aaron Condon.

Condon's treble and an own goal put Regent 4-1 up at the break and more goals followed from Billy Hunt (two), Jake Clowsley, Jake Turner and substitute Cam Ismail.

Regent handed a debut to new signing Joss Neale.

The 25-year-old former Stanway Rovers defender went straight into the starting line-up and will now be hoping to keep his place when the R's head to Burgess Hill Town for a Bostik League premier division encounter on Saturday.

Neale was previously with Harwich and Parkeston and played at Stanway alongside R’s assistant manager Pip Boyland.

The other Tolleshunt D’Arcy Memorial Cup semi-final, between Wivenhoe Town and FC Clacton, is due to take place at the GMP Plant Hire Stadium next Wednesday.
