TUESDAY'S icy conditions have led to the postponement of key games in the Bostik League.
Brightlingsea Regent had been due to entertain Billericay Town in an eagerly-anticipated premier division fixture at the Taydal Stadium.
However, due to the freezing conditions, officials decided to postpone the all-Essex affair shortly after 2pm.
The same fate had earlier befell Maldon and Tiptree's home division north match against AFC Sudbury.
The Park Drive contest was called off following a pitch inspection at 10am.
Heybridge Swifts had been due to travel to Cheshunt but that one was called off following a 2pm inspection.
Many other Bostik League games were also postponed, including the matches at Harlow Town, Wingate and Finchley, AFC Hornchurch, Bury Town, Canvey Island and Waltham Abbey.
There were no scheduled fixtures in the Thurlow Nunn League.
