The pre-season win of the day award for north Essex's non-league clubs went to HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS as they won 11-0 on their trip to Burnham Ramblers.

Swifts' warmed up their shooting boots at Leslie Field as Reece Grant came away with a hat-trick, Harrison Chatting and Sam Bantick tucked away two each and there was one apiece for Josh Fagbohun, Luke Callander and George Smith, with an own goal completing Ramblers' misery.

STANWAY ROVERS also enjoyed a profitable trip as they headed to Whitton United and returned with a 3-1 win after first-half strikes from Taylor Bannister, Lewis Hewitt and Jamie Guy and BRANTHAM ATHLETIC also hit a treble on the road as a Sean Gunn strike and two from Sam Newson saw them to a 3-0 win at Thurlow Nunn League new boys Little Oakley.

Yet another side scoring three away from home were WITHAM TOWN as a Ryan Imbert brace and one from Sam Ashford earned them a 3-0 win at HALSTEAD TOWN and FC CLACTON joined in the three-goals away from home theme as they won 3-2 at Border League side Harwich and Parkeston.

Harwich led 2-0 at half-time, but the Seasiders struck back with a Lewis Blanchett brace and one from Jamie Beecham.

While the results at the Milbank Stadium and Royal Oak followed league placing, that wasn't the case at West Bergholt, where the Border League side beat visitors WIVENHOE TOWN, who play two levels higher than their hosts.

Darren Bethell scored a brace against the Dragons and Jack Harrington also netted for Bergholt.

League ordering also failed to be reflected when BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT and AFC Sudbury clashed at North Road on Friday evening.

Regent, who have just moved up into step three of the non-league pyramid were beaten 4-2 by a Sudbury side who have just been relegation from that level.

Sudbury won with two late goals, but Phil Kelly and Aaron Condon were the Brightlingsea players on target.

MALDON & TIPTREE had a good away day as they won 3-1 at Saffron Walden and there was a defeat for COGGESHALL TOWN as they lost 2-1 at home to Wroxham.
