BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent duo Aaron Condon and Connor Witherspoon were double award-winners at the club's end-of-season presentation evening.

The pair were joint-recipients of the player' player-of-the-season accolade, getting a big thumbs up from their title-winning team-mates.

They were also called up to receive further awards during a night of celebration at North Road on Friday.

Former FC Clacton hot-shot Condon won the club's golden boot, having plundered an astonishing 37 goals.

His mammoth tally came in both division north and cup matches and represented a great return in his first season at Regent.

Tom Richardson was second with an also-impressive haul of 27 goals.

Former Brentwood Town and East Thurrock man Witherspoon, meanwhile, was also named as a joint-winner of the manager's player-of-the-year award, alongside skipper and stalwart Matt Cripps.

The supporters' top player was midfield dynamo Jake Turner, while the young player-of-the-year was the highly-rated Harry McDonald.

The goal of the season went to Phil Kelly, for his surging run and unstoppable finish in the home game against AFC Hornchurch on April 1.

Regent cruised to the division north title last season, winning by 12 points.

They are now preparing for their first-ever season at step three level, in the Ryman League premier division, which gets underway on August 12.
