STOKE by Nayland Golf Club Ladies duo Janet Hodge and Mal Went have made progress in the Daily Mail Foursomes competition.

They defeated their opponents from Newton Green, to make it through to the next round of the event.

Stoke by Nayland GC Ladies held a nine-hole golf competition and charity fundraising event.

Ladies captain Anne Hemmings invited the ladies to join her and Lady Vets representative Diana Harris in the Gallery bar for a charity fundraising event for their charity, Suffolk Mind.

The ladies raised more than £200 for the charity.

Results, silver division: 1 Margaret Bentley 14pts, 2 Ann Thomas 13pts ocb, 3rd Mal Went 13pts.

Bronze division: 1 Jan Partner 18pts, 2 Elaine Davidson 15pts, 3 Betty Cox 14pts.

Jo Little was a clear winner as Stoke by Nayland Ladies played an 18-hole stableford on the Constable course.

Little won with an incredible 41 points, ten shots ahead of runner-up Anne Hemmings.
