Indonesia is eight hours ahead of the UK so, for the second week running I was following Colchester United's game online in the early hours of Sunday morning.

This time it was Accrington Stanley away. It was just as frustrating as being there, without the fun of the journey up North and all that comes with it.

I could picture the game as it developed and even at a distance of 7,500 miles it felt like we were struggling to build up any sort of momentum and really threaten our opposition.

I was told by a friend of mine that there was an unhealthy exchange of words between a player and a fan at the end of the game.

Fans are always entitled to their opinion after travelling so far to watch their team play.

However, they should never be giving players abuse as they come to clap the fans at the end of a game - especially a narrow defeat.

Some could argue that the player acted unprofessionally by reacting - creating an unnecessary division between the players and the fans. It’s a shame and we can only hope this won’t continue.

What a difference seven days make. Just last Tuesday, we were boasting an impressive record of just one defeat in 12.

After six valuable points dropped however, we aren’t looking much like play-off contenders anymore. Let’s hope this can change.

There is no explanation for our enormous injury list but we are in danger of falling too far behind the play-off group unless we start winning again soon.

We face Wycombe Wanderers tonight, always a big game in the U’s calendar and somehow we need to pull out a big result.

We won quite easily in the game at Adams Park in August but tonight will be so much more of a challenge.

The Chairboys are flying and we are struggling to raise a competitive side.

Six points in the next week should get us back on track and I can’t wait to be back in the South Stand on Saturday for our game against Hartlepool United.

Realistically I’m going with a 2-2 draw against Wycombe but I would love to be proven wrong.

If I am, we could even be in the play-offs by 10pm tonight. Who knows? Up the U’s!
