FIGURE skating siblings Ed and Elliot Appleby both claimed impressive podium finishes at the Ice Talent Trophy in Belgium.

The talented duo from Wivenhoe took part in the Advanced Novice Men's events,in Hasselt.

Ed seized first place overall, with a new personal best (PB) in the free programme.

And Elliot was third place overall, as the pair enjoyed success in their first competition of 2017.

The competition was organised in co-operation with the Royal Belgian Figure Skating Federation (KBKF) and the Flemish Figure Skating Organization (VKSB).

Ed and Elliot were presented with trophies and bouquets, before standing proudly for the Great Britain National Anthem.

The brothers' achievements follow-on from their success at the British Figure Skating Championships at the end of last year, where they were placed first and second in the Advanced Novice Men's event.

They are both Sports Ambassadors for Chelmsford City Council in connection with their training at Riverside Ice and Leisure with their Ice Professionals, John Wicker and Jane Faux.

Ed and Elliot are due to compete in a NISA-allocated ISU event in The Hague, Netherlands later this month, again at Advanced Novice level.

Their sister, Alexandra Appleby also competed in Belgium.

It was the first time she has taken part in both short and free programmes since sustaining a training injury, last summer.
