COLCHESTER Rugby Club suffered a heavy defeat on the road, going down 62-7 at high-flying Wimbledon.
After falling 21-0 behind in the National League division three contest, the All Blacks gave themselves hope when Brett Cutbush scored a try that was converted by Dave Higgins.
However, Wimbledon piled on the pressure and eventually ran out clear winners.
The defeat was a blow for Colchester, who had lost their opening seven fixtures but stopped the rot with a timely 29-15 success at home to basement boys Amersham and Chiltern last Saturday.
They will now look to get back to winning ways when they welcome Guildford to Mill Road next weekend, before three more games in December prior to the Christmas break.
