One of North Essex's best-known non-league footballers is now passing on his expertise to young players and will be hosting a soccer camp for five to 11-year-olds on Wednesday.

Ray Turner has enjoyed a successful career as a striker at clubs such as Stanway Rovers, FC Clacton and Halstead Town and is currently helping to lead Wivenhoe Town's return back in the top flight of the Thurlow Nunn League this season.

He is also working as a coach at the Dragons and is looking pass on his knowledge to the next generation of young players.

Turner is already running successful coaching sessions each week at West Bergholt and now Rowhedge and will be hosting a one-day special camp at Bergholt on Wednesday.

The camp runs from 10am to 2pm with fun games, a mini tournament and prizes to be won at West Bergholt FC's ground at the Orpen Hall in Lexden Road.

Turner's regular West Bergholt sessions take place every Thursday from 5pm to 6pm at a cost of £5 per session ages for girls and boys of all abilities between the ages of five and 11.

He is also starting a soccer school at Rowhedge fc on Fridays from 5pm to 6pm for the same age groups.
