Colchester United will travel to play Championship club Brighton and Hove Albion in the League Cup first round.
Brighton reached last season's Championship play-offs, losing out in their semi-final against Sheffield Wednesday over two legs.
The U's will take on the Seagulls at the Amex Stadium in the week commencing August 8, following this afternoon's draw.
It will be Colchester's first-ever visit to the Amex Stadium.
Colchester have met Brighton on 44 occasions in competitive fixtures, over the years.
The U's have won ten of those encounters, with the Seagulls winning 17 and 17 of the games between the two clubs ending in draws.
The last meeting between the two sides came in April 2011, when the U's played out a 1-1 draw with Brighton at the Weston Homes Community Stadium in League One with Ian Henderson on target for Colchester.
