COLCHESTER'S Tim Rowbottom bagged a sixth-place finish at the Caterham Graduate Championship Sigma and Sigmax competition at Thruxton.

Qualifying saw Rowbottom place his Caterham (Sigmax) 11th on the grid with a one minute 28 second lap, as part of the support package to the British Truck Racing Championship.

In the first of the weekend’s races, Rowbottom was soon up into eighth place after a good start.

He continued moving up the field and by the end of lap three, was up into sixth.

Rowbottom remained here until lap eight where he briefly slipped back to seventh.

But he soon regained the place, taking the chequered flag in sixth place after a hard-fought 13-lap race.

Rowbottom started from 12th in the second race and immediately made up two places off the start.

He alternated between ninth and tenth remained tenth for the remainder of the race where he eventually finished, negotiating back markers.

Rowbottom will be in action again when he competes at Brands Hatch on June 25 and 26.
