STANWAY ROVERS have been pipped to the runners-up spot in the Thurlow Nunn League.
Rivals Godmanchester Rovers made certain of second place in the premier division with an emphatic 7-0 home victory over fifth-placed Kirkley & Pakefield, on Wednesday.
Stanway are assured of third place and will hope to finish on a high when they entertain champions Norwich United on Saturday.
In division one, WIVENHOE TOWN can officially sew up the title with a point, at least, at King's Lynn Reserves tonight.
They are three points clear of Ely City, who made certain of the runners-up spot with a 5-2 victory at home to AFC Sudbury Reserves on Wednesday.
The Dragons still need a point from their remaining two matches to be crowned champions, although with a far superior goal difference they look almost certain to take the top spot.
