BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent were in dominant form at Aveley.

Regent secured a 4-2 Ryman League division north victory on Saturday.

There was an early chance for Regent in the first minute.

The ball bounced around the area and landed in front of Terry Rymer but he wasn’t able to get his shot off.

But Rymer gave Regent the lead on 12 minutes.

A pin-point cross from Shamido Pedulu was headed home by Rymer in to the bottom corner.

The Millers came back strongly and Regent keeper Ollie Bowles had to be on form to make a good save from Tarryn Allarakhia.

Pedulu then went close but his effort flashed just wide on 25 minutes.

Aveley then had a chance but Ahmed Deen’s effort ballooned over the bar.

The home side went even closer when Billy Holland’s header clattered off the bar.

But, it was Brightlingsea who increased their lead when Phil Kelly scored on the stroke of half-time.

A mistake at the back allowed Kelly to run in and lift the ball over keeper James Marrable.

After the break, the home side made a quick start and Bowles had to make a good save from Allarakhia on 48 minutes.

And they pulled a goal back when Petrit Elbi chipped the keeper from distance on 61 minutes.

But, Brightlingsea hit back with another goal when unmarked Josh Gould headed home two minutes later from Josh Mayhew’s free-kick.

Regent made it 4-1 on 86 minutes when Russell Malton fired home from the edge of the box.

David Fallah then made it 4-2 as he pulled a goal back for Aveley, firing home the rebound to his penalty following a hand ball in the box, three minutes later.

Brightlingsea, however, had done enough for the win.

Witham Town battled back to take a 2-1 at Soham Town Rangers.

The home side took the lead from the penalty spot when Ryan Sharman made the most of his opportunity on 44 minutes.

However, Witham equalised almost immediately when Nathan Koranteng made it 1-1.

And, after the break, the visitors took the lead when Ryan Charles scored on 61 minutes.

Heybridge Swifts battled to a 3-3 draw against visiting Waltham Abbey.

The visitors took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Christian Assombalonga hit the opening goal.

Waltham then doubled their lead soon after the break when Ellis Lentell scored on 50 minutes.

But, Heybridge pulled a goal back on 59 minutes through Lewis Godbold.

A minute later Heybridge equalised through Jack Barham.

But, Waltham Abbey retook the lead on 82 minutes through Assombalonga.

However, Abbey couldn’t hold on to the lead as George Cole equalised on 84 minutes.
