TIPTREE Road Runners ladies put in a great performance on Mersea Island.

They took the first team prize in the Mersea Round the Island race.

Kate Finch ran one hour, 52 minutes and 26 seconds, Valerie Rees 1h 57m 40s and Wendy Smalley 2h 57m 15s.

Paul Dellar was first home for the club in 1h 42m, followed by Craig Dawson 1h 44m 25s and Mark Lawes 1h 50m 21s.

Richard Garrett ran 2h 12m 4s, Martin Pratley 2h 23m 32s and Jeff Fairfull 2h 32m 17s.

In other events, Simon Morgan completed his 500th race for the club at the Harwich 5K handicap with a time of 20m 35s. Gary Perryman finished in 20m 51s and Abigail Morgan improved her personal best to 22m 41s. Roger Duffield finished in 30m 20s.

Anthony Knight finished the Mike Groves ten-mile race in 1h 30m 2s.

Earlier, he completed the hilly off-road Langdon 5K in 28m 23s.

At the Dengie River Run, Andrew Conway took seventh place in 41m 59s. And Gary Perryman finished the Capel Five in 35m 50s with Rob Hadgraft running 39m 58s.

At the Maldon Prom Parkrun, Andrew Conway was first home for the cub in 20m 9s.

Valerie Rees claimed her second personal best in a week with a run of 22m 6s, improving her previous mark by almost 30 seconds.

Stuart Meddemmen ran a season’s best of 22m 12s with Graeme Moon running 25m 19s. David Stokes improved his personal best and M65 club record with a time of 26m 20s and Peter Banks finished in 34m 7s.

Mark Shillaker, training for the Para ten mile event, ran the Colchester Parkrun in full trousers, boots and 35lb pack, finishing in 29m 17s. Paula Rothero ran 29m 19s.

At the Ipswich Parkrun, Simon Morgan ran 20m 57s with Gary Perryman finishing in 21m 16s.
