Witham Town boss Garry Kimble says some of his players are going to need fitness tests ahead of their Ryman League premier division clash with Hendon tonight.

The game at the Village Glass Stadium will be the second meeting between the two in four days after Witham lost the away fixture 2-0 on Saturday.

Kimble said his team were left ruing mistakes at the back that gifted Hendon their two goals and hopes they will bounce back in front of their own fans tonight.

However, he has a number of injury concerns ahead of the game.

“A few of them are struggling,” said Kimble.

“Ryan Charles looks like he has have broken his toe at Hendon on Saturday so he’ll be out for a few weeks if that’s the case and Danny Emmanuel has a tight hamstring.

“Ryan Blackman took a knock to his shin at the weekend as well and Paul King had stud marks all the way down the back of his leg so I don’t know if he’ll make it.

“Hopefully we should be alright, though.

“We have to dust ourselves down and go again.

“It’s going to be a tall order now as other teams around us – VCD Athletic and Hornchurch – won on Saturday, but we have to stand up and be counted.

“If they can’t get up for games now then there’s something wrong.

“There’s only so much we can do, it’s up to them as players to go out there and do it.”
