Hart takes top Essex role
Mike Hart, a member of Colchester Golf Club was elected President of the Essex Golf Union (EGU) earlier in the month at their annual meeting held at Upminster Golf Club.
He is only the third member of the club to have been elected to this, the premier position in Essex golf, the last one being Bill Macmillan in 1986. The EGU run and promote amateur golf in Essex and was originally founded in 1924.
Hart who, lives in West Bergholt, has played an important part in various roles in the EGU for several years.
