The Colne Rugby Academy continues to go from strength to strength – both on and off the pitch.
They have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the college season, allied to their victory at this year’s Essex Schools Tens competition.
And director of rugby Anthony O’Riordan says the academy’s academic course and rugby training have taken a “new and energised direction” since moving from their old base in Brightlingsea to Colchester Rugby Club’s HQ in Mill Road.
“We’re enjoying huge success,” he said.
“Having secured three consecutive British College’s Sport League promotions, we’ve embarked on this season with energy, enthusiasm and success.
“And since moving to Mill Road, the academic course and rugby training have taken a new and energised direction.
“Having changed the course of study to a triple A-level in Sport and Exercise Science, students are more focused and engaged.
“This enthusiasm has, without doubt, transferred on to the pitch in both training and on a match day."
