WITHAM TOWN boss Garry Kimble has issued a rallying cry for the public to get behind his team and help them make FA Cup history.

The Ryman Premier side are playing in the fourth qualifying round for the first time ever, when they entertain Vanarama Conference South strugglers Weston-Super-Mare.

If they are successful, they will book their place in Monday’s televised first-round proper draw, alongside the likes of Colchester United, Coventry, Sheffield United and Bristol City.

The fact £12,500 in prize money is up for grabs to the winners will add even more spice to the Village Glass Stadium showdown.

Kimble said: “It’s going to be a big day for the club and we’re hoping to get the same lift that the home crowd gave us in last season’s play-off final (when nearly 900 fans packed into the ground to watch Witham beat Harlow and book their place in the Ryman Premier).

“The boys raised their game to another level for that game and we’d love as many people coming in as possible, to give us the best opportunity possible."
