David Fox has rejoined Colchester United on a three-month contract.
The 30-year-old midfielder, who was a free agent after leaving Norwich City at the end of last season, has signed a deal with the U's having spent time recently training with the squad.
Fox played 21 times for Colchester during his first spell at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, in the 2009-10 season.
He left to join Norwich in 2010 and went on to clock up more than 60 appearances for the Norfolk club.
Fox spent time at Barnsley on loan last season and will now boost Colchester's midfield options for their League One campaign.
