KEITH Wilson’s Heybridge Swifts secured derby day bragging rights and a welcome winning boost.
Swifts secured a 4-1 victory over Ryman League division one rivals Burnham Ramblers as Keith Wilson returned to his former club for the first time.
Neil Richmond grabbed a hat-trick and Billy Hunt was also on target as both former Burnham players helped to defeat Ramblers Richmond hit the opening goal on ten minutes lobbing the advancing keeper Bercher.
Richmond doubled Swifts advantage on the stroke of half-time with a great volley following a corner.
Richmond completed his hat-trick in the first minute of the second half.
Liam Burgess struck one back on 51 minutes for Burnham.
Heybridge then struck a fourth from Hunt.
Maldon and Tiptree fell to a 2-0 defeat against visiting Chatham Town.
Brightlingsea went down to a 2-1 defeat at Ware in a tight encounter.
Both sides were creating chances and could have taken the lead in the first half.
The visitors took the lead when Josh Gould headed in a Ricky Griggs free-kick.
The home side pulled level through Kieran Bishop before Murat Karagul fired home the winner.
In the premier division, Witham Town’s home game against Kingstonian was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
