COLCHESTER United boss Joe Dunne says his players will relish the challenge of bursting Brentford’s bubble.
A bumper crowd of around 7,000 is expected for tomorrow’s final home game of the League One season.
The Bees have already secured a top-two spot and are heading up to the Championship.
Colchester, in marked contrast, are still in the thick of the relegation battle, sitting just one point above fourth-from-bottom Notts County.
Nevertheless, Dunne says his side are “focused and positive” and expects them to thrive on the big stage.
“Brentford have had an incredible season,” said the Irishman.
“But in terms of performance, we’ve done well against sides in the top six.
“Wolves were the only team to give us a thrashing, when they came here and won 3-0.
“Otherwise, we’ve been close in these games and tend to find an extra gear against the big teams.
“At this stage of the season, and given the importance of the game, we need to find it again tomorrow.”
