Premier Division

FOR one particular reason it will be a season that will live long in the memories of this League - and Writtle FC in particular.

On the park the players have responded as only sportsman can and Writtle will, after beating Beacon Hill 2-0, collect their League runners-up medals with much pride and perhaps not a little in the memory of David Thrift.

Division One

CHAMPIONS Sporting Club Henderson rounded off their season with a 1-1 draw against Springfield, who took an early lead through Burnham and then hung on until ten minutes remained, when Finch netted to bring the scores level.

Division Two West

ITS been a long time coming but Great Berry Rangers secured the points that finally crowned them as Champions. Kappes, Davis and Hayson scored the goals that gave them a 3-1 win over Chipping Ongar - and the title.

Division Three East

ON a very hot afternoon, West Billericay finshed their campaign by entertaining Leigh Town, who ran out winners by 5-2.

Colin Fletcher had scored West Billericay's first goal and, at the kick-off, following Leigh Towns' fifth, his brother Steve Fletcher took a shy at the Leigh Town goal. Steve to lob their very tall goalie managed from half-way to make it 5-2, to the delight of his clubmates.

If Vichouse Sports needed to win the division on goal difference, a 14-0 win against Runwell Hospital would have helped. But, as it was, five goals by Warner, three by Rich, one each by Judd, Thompson, Goodman, Coughlan, Lloyd(s) and Lloyd (J) only pushed their goal tally to top 90.
