COMPASSES triumphed in the Darts Cup against Dog & Partridge at Little Waltham SC to chalk up the first leg of what could be a Ridley League double.
A 5-2 triumph continued their excellent recent form in the darts since New Year’s Day - in which they have won eight matches from nine for the loss of only 14 games.
It came after Compasses had been beaten in both home and away legs by Dog & Partridge in the league, with this match settled after the five singles.
Captain Martin Compton and Grant Gregory claimed the first two points and although Dog skipper Mick Cain handed out Chris Cook’s first defeat of the campaign, Keith Griffiths and Ernie Holden won to end any hopes of a comeback.
Victory in the final league match of the season - the rearranged fixture at Red Beret - will guarantee the title.
And, having already whitewashed their neighbours once, they will start overwhelming favourites.
It comes the week after City FC triumphed in the Combined Trophy and scooped the Dominoes League title against Red Beret.
