THE Dog & Partridge and Chelmsford Compasses will face off for the Ridley League Darts Cup next month after a heroic double win against the league’s top two.

Compasses stormed into their first final, inflicting a third darts defeat of the season on City FC, who were a shell of the team which has dominated the league campaign.

Skipper Martin Compton took the opening singles against Harry Cove and Grant Gregory won a see-saw second game for the loss of the only singles leg Compasses conceded.

City’s turmoil was typified when Des Vickers (180) lost two straight to Chris Cook.

The Dog earned their place in the final with their second victory in three matches against Little Waltham.

They took the singles 3-2, Rob Cain beating Steve O’Neil to offset George Wood’s defeat by Jenny Kochan. Wood avenged that as the Great Leighs side breezed through the pairs without dropping a leg.
