TOM Westley says he is 'over the moon' after winning his maiden England call-up for next week's Test against South Africa.
The 28-year-old Essex batsmen is expected to start at number three for England when the third Test gets underway next Thursday at the KIA Oval, having received the call-up earlier today.
And he admits he felt a host of emotions after hearing the news.
"I had a call from the head of selectors and it is surreal," said Westley, who has excelled for Essex in the red-ball game so far this season.
"It is an amazing feeling and you go through a number of emotions. The first was shock and then I was chuffed and felt great pride.
"It is a dream come true and this is why you play cricket.
"Hopefully I will be able to play a big part against South Africa."
The full story will be in tomorrow's Echo.
