SRINGFIELD Striders fielded 43 runners on Sunday at the London Marathon and they all completed the course on a cool and breezy morning in the capital.

First Strider home was Mark Newton in a fabulous time of 2:30:20 and he was joined by another seven club members under the three hour mark, including first Strider lady Nikki Brockbank, who stopped the clock at 2:58:23.

For John Hoskyn it was his 20th and last London Marathon. He ran dressed as the Queen and the highlight of his day was being interviewed by the BBC on Tower Bridge during the race.
