WITH a handful of games to go, the Ridley League is still a tight two-horse race. Dog & Partridge are back on top, but by only seven points over Cricketers?

The Dog's darters were as dominant as usual at Margaretting, George Wood chalking up two 180s, but Black Bull spiked their dominoes hopes - and with joint pacemakers City B also crashing, that title, too, looks increasingly Cricketers-bound.

The Fryerning side have three tricky home fixtures left (versus City A, Chequers A and Little Waltham SC) in which to reinforce their position in the mixed and dominoes leagues, and a match in hand on the Dog for the overall title.

The Dog’s run-in – away matches at Compasses and City B - looks less testing, while outsiders City A and Little Waltham each have three chances left to increase the pressure at the top.

Results: Black Bull 6, Dog & Partridge 9 (singles/pairs 2-5, mixed 0-1, women 0-1, dominoes 4-2); CCFC A 14, Bird in Hand 1 (7-0, 1-0, 0-1, 6-0); Chequers B 9, CCFC B 6 (5-2, 0-1, 0-1, 4-2); Lt Waltham SC 8, Chequers A 7 (4-3, 1-0, 1-0, 2-4).

Fixtures (Apr 19) – Women’s Singles and league meeting (8.0). Also Dominoes Pairs: CCFC A v Compasses (7.30), winners v Lt Waltham SC (all at CCFC).
