CHELMSFORD Chieftains booked their place in the semi-finals of the NIHL Division One South play-offs with a 9-2 aggregate win over old rivals London Raiders.
The Chieftains secured a 4-1 win at Lea Valley in the first leg on Saturday night to put themselves in the driving seat.
And a 5-1 win over the side formerly known as the Romford Raiders at the Riverside on Sunday night ensured the Chieftains’ progress into the last four.
Lukas Zatopek, Grant Bartlett, Ross Brears, Danny Hammond and Matt Turner were on target for the Chieftains on Sunday, with ex Chieftain Matt France scoring a consolation with just 53 seconds of the game remaining, spoiling Chieftains netminder Euan King’s shut-out.
This weekend Cjelmsford face Streatham Redskins, again over two legs with the away leg on Saturday followed by the final leg at Chelmsford Riverside Ice and Leisure on Sunday (face-off 6.30pm).
