CHELMSFORD A’s 9-1 win over Danbury E has given them a 20-point lead over Liberal at the top of the second division of the Chelmsford & District Table Tennis League.
A solid team-effort saw Elmtree Excalibur B beat Galley wood B 7-3, while Daniel Berry was undefeated as OCs C beat Hatfield Peverel B 7-3 and bottom side Hatfield Peverel lost 9-1 to Danbury D.
The first division produced two hard-fought 5-5 draws. Alex Abbott was undefeated as Maldon A shared the points with Galleywood A and bottom side Elmtree Excalibur A drew with second-placed Bocking A.
Maldon B beat Division Three leaders Elmtree Excalibur C 7-3, with Chelmsford Closed Tournament ladies singles champion Dawn Baldry undefeated.
Maldon C ran out 6-4 winners over Danbury F and Chelmsford C did well to beat OCs D 6-.
David Gatherall’s hat-trick helped Galleywood C beat Elmtree Excalibur D in Division Four.
Nicola Pippen’s trio earned Elmtree Excalibur E a 5-5 draw against Division Five leaders Writtle, while Hatfield Peverel E and OCs H also drew 5-5.
In the CLICK Handicap Competition, OCs J beat Buttsbury 5-0, Black Notley defeated Buttsbury A and Chelmsford H beat Buttsbury B 3-2.
