SPRINGFIELD Striders bagged two gold, three silver and one bronze medal at the Essex 20-mile road running championships.

The Striders’ men retained the team title, with Paul Molyneux (1h 47m 08s), Tom Cammack (1:57:15) and Gavin Allen (1:58:40) the scorers.

Molyneux also took the individual silver, as did Allen in the V40 category.

It was the icing on the cake for Cammack as he had been called up into the Essex cross country team for the Inter Counties championships later this month.

The other gold went to Sheila Macaulay, who won the V65 Essex title and also broke the Striders club record with 3:25:32.

Jackie Stretton (2:20:45) picked up the individual bronze and claimed the team silver with Sam Monk (2:32:43) and Rachael Roughan (2:40:41).

Roger Gooding ran to victory at the Felsted trail race on a muddy course. Also making the top ten were Tim Brockington and Richard Taylor. Elaine Tribley was third lady.
