CHELMSFORD City moved up to seventh in the National League South table following a brace of bank holiday weekend wins.
The Clarets defeated St Albans City 2-1 at Melbourne Stadium on Saturday, before picking up another three points following a 1-0 win at Maidstone United on Monday.
And City will be aiming to make it a hat-trick of wins when they host Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday.
Chelmsford’s 2-1 win over St Albans City on Saturday left the Saints’ still winless after seven league games.
Billy Bricknell opened the scoring two minutes before the half-time with a well-taken goal just as the visitors began to test the home side.
Luke Allen, James Comley and Billy Medlock all went close for St Albans with long-range efforts but Bricknell broke the stalemate following Christian Dibble’s long ball forward.
Louis Theophanous scored the equliser in the 56th minute with a well-worked goal.
But Bricknell tapped in Hugo Skepelhorn’s cross in the 60th minute to wrap up the points for the hosts.
And Lee Sawyer made sure it was a six-point bank holiday haul by scoring the only goal in Chelmsford’s 1-0 victory at Maidstone.
Sawyer scored from the penalty spot in the 38th minute after Tom Mill’s clumsy challenge on Skepelhorn.
Maidstone had a chance to equalise from the penalty spot in front of 2,117 fans after Alex Brown was brought down in the area, but Alex Akfofi’s spot-kick hit a post.
Saturday’s visitors, Havant & Waterlooville, are currently 12th in the table and go into the match on the back of a 4-0 victory over Eastbourne United on Monday.
