CHEQUERS B’s Donna Hazell and Marguerite Sturgeon are one win away from erasing the memory of last season’s final defeat with their first Ridley League women’s pairs darts title.

The Felsted duo conceded just one leg at Chelmsford City FC to book a place in this summer’s final, where they will face Jenny Kochan and Lou Morton (Lt Waltham SC).

Kochan and Morton came through a tough lower half of the draw, beating three-times finalists Caroline Kochan and Marion Wiley in their opening match, then KO-ing Compasses’ Debbie Jackson and Jackie Woodwards, who had eliminated the holders, Sharon Chaplin and Yvonne Hall-Wilson (Globe).

But there was a disappojnting entry, with four clubs absent and only nine competing pairs.
