TITLE favourites the Globe were hit by the non-arrival of last week’s match result sheet, a lapse that let in rivals Chequers B at the top of the official Ridley League table.

The Felsted team’s comprehensive 11-4 win at the Compasses put them four points clear, although the Globe’s missing points, and their match in hand, will nullify that.

The Compasses’ successes were few and far between. Sean Willis took the second singles at Wayne Goodwin’s expense, but Goodwin had revenge in the dominoes.

Chequers A stayed in the hunt with a comfortable 10-5 victory to complete the double over St Anne’s Castle, who badly missed Robbie Turner and their women. Former captain Trevor Suckling, back in action, had a fruitless night.

The Cricketers rattled up another big win over CCFC. The visitors edged the main darts, Gareth Viney nicking the decider in the face of a 180 by Keith Hemsworth, but the Cricketers won everything else, completing a 6-0 dominoes double over City – ample revenge after being KO’d by them in both cups.

Little Waltham stole the honours in a ding-dong with mid-table rivals Black Bull. Nigel Chapman’s return gave the Bull the edge in the singles and pairs, but Waltham dominated the pairs and dominoes.

The Darts and Dominoes Cups semi-final draw will be made at the league meeting on Tuesday, February 17, at Chelmsford City FC at 8pm.
